Spherion is partnering with Rockford Brake Manufacturing to hire a skilled and safety-focused Boiler Technician to manage the critical steam and heating operations on 2nd Shift. You will be essential in ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of industrial boilers and auxiliary mechanical systems supporting our heavy manufacturing/foundry environment.

• Location: Rockford, IL (Heavy Manufacturing/Foundry)

Responsibilities :

• Safely operate and continuously monitor high-pressure industrial boilers, air compressors, pumps, and associated equipment
• Diagnose and immediately troubleshoot operational issues; perform routine and preventive maintenance (PMs), including repairing and replacing fittings, gaskets, and controls
• Conduct and evaluate routine boiler water quality tests and administer necessary chemicals to ensure system longevity and efficiency
• Maintain detailed operational logs and strictly adhere to all federal, state, and local codes and safety regulations (including LOTO)

Qualifications :

• Licensure: Valid Boiler Operator/Stationary Engineer License (State Certified) is required or highly preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining high-pressure boilers in an industrial setting
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of steam systems, water treatment, hydraulics, and combustion processes
• Aptitude: Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and work independently with minimal supervision
