About the Role:

Be the heart of our community’s knowledge. We are looking for more than just a staff member; we are looking for a Literary Steward who understands the value of the books we carry.

In this role, you will act as a librarian for our community—guiding customers to the right texts—while also managing the critical logistics that keep our doors open. You will ensure that knowledge reaches homes around the world, whether that’s by recommending a title to a visitor or carefully packing a shipment for an online order.

What You Will Do:

• Curate & Connect: Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, helping them navigate our collection and finding resources that meet their spiritual and educational needs.
• Manage the Treasury (Inventory): Maintain the organization of the bookstore, ensuring every title is accounted for and shelves are stocked. Ensure the cleanliness of all areas. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Monitor and replenish supplies and collaborate to implement sales strategies and targets.
• Logistics of Knowledge: Handle the entering and shipping of order. This involves physical work—packing boxes, scheduling pallets, and ensuring safe delivery. Handle cash, credit card etc and promote special offers, discounts
• Community Presence: Assist with bookstore pop-ups at conventions and local events (some travel may be required occasionally).

Who You Are:

• A Book Lover with Hustle: You love organizing a bookshelf, but you aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and move 20lb boxes of inventory.
• Tech-Savvy: You are comfortable using computer systems. Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Culturally Fluent: You have a working knowledge of Islamic terminology (Arabic/Urdu preferred) and can help customers distinguish between different texts.
• The Schedule: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed with full daytime availability (this is not a heavy after-school/weekend position)

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
