Job Description

Position Summary:

The Communications Director is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that enhance the visibility, reputation, and engagement of YNHS. This role manages all aspects of marketing, public relations, internal communications, and social media to support the organization’s mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing & Public Relations

• Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote YNHS services.
• Represent YNHS at community events and with media outlets to foster positive public relations.
• Manage and maintain the YNHS website and all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter).
• Create, schedule, and monitor engaging social media content to promote services, events, and health education.
• Analyze social media performance and adjust strategies based on insights and trends.
• Plan and lead special events for staff and the community.
• Coordinate advocacy efforts and keep staff and board informed of relevant health policy issues.

Internal Communications

• Prepare and distribute internal communications such as newsletters, announcements, and updates.
• Develop strategies to enhance employee engagement and internal culture.
• Write and produce press releases, brochures, advertisements, and other publications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications role, preferably in a health care setting.
• Proficiency in managing social media platforms and using analytics tools.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with graphic design and content creation is a plus.
• Must not be excluded from participation in federal or state healthcare programs.
