Housing Works established New York State's first harm reduction-based, OASAS-licensed outpatient drug treatment program. Other services include Health Home care management, behavioral health, and syringe exchange programs. Compensation Range: $19/hr- $21/hr C ommensurate with xperience

Overview:

The Community Navigator is responsible for identifying, establishing, and cultivating cooperative relationships with community-based programs, organizations, and community leaders, with a special focus on low-income individuals with chronic diagnosis of mental health, HIV, substance use, gaps in work histories and interested in employment plus SNAP recipients.

Have a clear understanding of Housing Works services. Knowledge of community resources, i.e., hospitals, shelters etc.

Excellent communication and listening skills. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Experience working with groups and/or communities that provides services for the underserved.

Ability to connect with large groups of people.

Provide information and identify the need for job readiness training and employment. Ability to collaborate with external providers and promote the services of the Ready For Work program.

Assist in the planning and coordination of community fairs and events. Assist in the development and implementation of a marketing campaign to the community served.

Maintain comprehensive documentation for data collection; and provide statistical data and/or reports for program requirements. Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Attends and participates in staff meetings, and vendor service meetings, as requested. Performs all duties within the agency's scope of services as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Education

Background in social work or a related field. Bachelor's degreepreferred Computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and general office skills. Problem-solving and strong customer relations skills. Knowledge of marketing and promotion
