This is a vocational-level position responsible for a variety of emergency management related duties within a designated area of responsibility. This may include assisting with exercises; operating and monitoring a variety of emergency communication equipment (e.g., computers, radios, National Warning and Alert System phones, Emergency Alert, multi-line phones, etc.); and contacting multiple state and local emergency managers to gather and provide emergency incident or disaster information. While there are procedures in place that help guide the actions of employees at this level, judgment is required to determine the appropriate communication methods, and priority of situations/incidents.

Normal work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. However, overtime or unusual working hours are required during an emergency event. Occasional same day or overnight travel is required.
