Hourly Pay Range: $28.47 - $42.71 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights: - Position: Histology Technician
- Location: Evanston Hospital
- Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 11am-7:30pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays
What you will do: - Processing tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor
- Embedding: Manual and Automated using Sakura Auto TEK embedder
- Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks both manual and auto embedded
- Recuts of tissue blocks
- Special Stains
- IF cryotomy of skin specimens
What you will need: - Education: Associate's or Bachelor's in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or Completed accredited Histology Technology program.
- Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible.
- Experience: 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred
- Unique or Preferred Skills: Ability to perform manual embedding and microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks.
