Job Title: Senior Telecom Engineer

Location: Broomfield, Colorado

Job Type: Contract

Job Summary:

As a Senior Telecom Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining all in-house voice systems, including designing, installing, configuring, upgrading, diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing telecommunications systems, call centers, contact centers, and voice networks. You will analyze and resolve telecommunications circuit and system issues promptly while assisting end users. This role requires senior-level experience in all aspects of telecommunications and technology, functioning independently with minimal oversight. The role may also include instructing and guiding junior technical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain telecom networks and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot voice-network issues and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and plan projects for telecom system enhancements.
• Implement innovative technologies and features to improve voice and communications performance and efficiency.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
• Conduct system evaluations and recommend upgrades or enhancements to meet evolving business needs.
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements for telecom systems.
• Develop and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for voice and collaboration systems.
• Assist in creating and maintaining critical support documentation in the enterprise knowledge repository.
• Participate in the definition of enterprise standards, processes, and procedures.
• Contribute to the development of annual operational and capital budgets, focusing on equipment refresh and anticipated growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing telecom systems such as Avaya, Cisco Call Manager, Genesys, and other third-party voice and collaboration systems.
• Strong knowledge of telecom network architecture, protocols, and technologies.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving network issues efficiently.
• Expertise in optimizing telecom systems for performance and reliability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills to plan, execute, and deliver telecom projects on time and within budget.
• Continuous learning mindset and up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in telecom technology.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineers in a telecom environment.
• Demonstrated success in managing technology projects and teams, highlighting practical leadership skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in healthcare applications and systems.

Certifications & Licensure:

• Required: Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Genesys certifications, or other telecom/networking certifications. Knowledge of contact center design and cloud systems.
