Project Overview:

Bechtel is among the most respected engineering, project management, and construction companies in the world. Bechtel operates through four global business units that specialize in infrastructure; manufacturing and technology; mining and metals; nuclear, security and environmental; and energy. Today, our colleague's team with customers, partners, and suppliers on diverse projects in nearly 40 countries. Bechtel’s focus on renewables and clean energy is helping our customers deliver transformational renewables and clean energy projects. Bechtel renewables team will perform the project management, engineering, procurement, and construction for a multiple utility-scale solar photovoltaic (“PV”) generating plants across the US.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will work with the project team to assist in the preparation, establishment, and maintenance of cost data. You will perform budget development tasks, allocation, monitoring, reporting, and analysis. You will identify cost trends for management attention, support project organizational and administrative activities, and help ensure work is completed as scheduled and on budget.

Major Responsibilities:

• Performs cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, project setup, control, analysis, forecasting, and trend program coordination
• Prepares and coordinates the implementation of cost reporting and ensures accuracy, as directed
• Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
• Implements measurement systems for given processes, analyzes performance metric results, and identifies opportunities for improvements
• Gathers and verifies data pertaining to workforce and quantities to update progress and performance reports
• Prepares and presents cost information at meetings, as directed 

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated skill in presenting scheduling information
• Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes, as performed by Bechtel
• Demonstrated skill in monitoring budgets / forecasts, and analyzing costs and commitments 
• Ability to take initiative in project related tasks and coordination with various stakeholders
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to ensure effective project delivery
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team atmosphere
• Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems
