Location: New Jersey (Onsite)

Job Summary

The Mechanical Project Manager will oversee the construction and coordination of a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role involves managing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; ensuring project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met; and serving as the owner's representative throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight

  • Lead and manage construction activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with specifications.

  • Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Utility and System Coordination

  • Coordinate municipal utility connections, including water, sewer, gas, and electrical services.

  • Oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins, ensuring all systems integrate smoothly with the overall building design.

On-Site Management

  • Maintain on-site presence four days per week to monitor work progress, resolve issues, and verify adherence to project plans.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings with contractors and stakeholders.

Change Order Management

  • Review, evaluate, and provide recommendations on change orders.

  • Ensure all modifications are justified, cost-effective, and align with project goals.

Owner's Representative Duties

  • Act as the primary liaison between ownership and project teams to ensure alignment with project vision and objectives.

  • Review project plans, specifications, and contractor performance.

  • Manage project documentation, reporting, and communication.

  • Address on-site challenges promptly and ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or project management.

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, mechanical systems, building codes, and industry standards.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with close attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 Certification
